Introduction
中国遼寧省生まれ、福岡県育ち。
現在、国際農業研究協議グループ（CGIAR）の国際森林研究センター（CIFOR）でバリュー・チェーン、ファイナンスおよび投資チームの主任研究員。同センター ナイロビ事務所で東・西アフリカ地域を担当する。
以前はロンドンに拠点を置く国際環境開発研究所（IIED）の自然資源研究グループに在籍し、中国・カメルーン・ウガンダ・コンゴ民主共和国・タンザニア・モザンビーク・ザンビア・ジンバブエにおけるマルチステークホルダー・プロセスプラットフォームと研究協力事業に従事。米ミドルベリー大学で国際政治経済学を専攻、英オックスフォード大学大学院 環境変動研究所（ECI）にて環境変動マネジメント修士号取得。現在、独フライブルグ大学 環境・自然資源大学院の博士課程に在籍中。
中国遼寧省に生まれ、幼少期は福岡県で過ごす。経団連のユナイテッド・ワールド・カレッジ（UWC）奨学生として、16歳の時にカナダに渡りピアソンカレッジで高校生活を送る。現在、ケニアの首都ナイロビで1歳の息子・泰然と、草の根の環境再生型農業に取り組む夫・ヤコブと共に暮らす。
Currently a Research Fellow with the Value Chains, Finance and Investment team at the Center of International Forestry Research (CIFOR). Based in Nairobi and work on projects across Eastern and Western Africa.
Prior to joining CIFOR, Xue worked for the Natural Resources Group of the International Institute of Environment and Development (IIED; London, UK) where she managed multi-stakeholder platforms and research collaboration projects in China, Cameroon, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Politics and Economics from Middlebury College (U.S.), Master of Science (MSc) in Environmental Change and Management from the Environmental Change Institute (ECI), University of Oxford (U.K.) and is currently a PhD candidate at University of Freiburg (Germany). She was born in Liaoning, China, spent her childhood in Fukuoka, Japan. Supported by a Keidanren-United World College scholarship, she left Japan at the age of 16 and attended Pearson College UWC in Canada for her high school. She currently lives in Nairobi with her 1-year old son Taiyo and husband Jakob whose work on grass-roots regenerative farming inspires her on a daily basis.
